Nor Cal: the St. Francis Golf Team won the Nor Cal Championships with a low score of 395 by 4 strokes of the other closet team, Alameda, posting a score of 399. This was an amazing and exciting accomplishment for the team as they battled through a very difficult and long course, down to the very last stroke, to win. St. Francis won it's 10th Nor Cal Championship in the 13 seasons that golf has participated in Nor Cals. All of the girls showed great poise, sportsmanship, honor, teamwork, dedication and focus as they overcame so many obstacles along the way. This was an awesome accomplishment for the seniors of the team who have won 4 straight Nor Cal championships and strive, along with their teammates. They finished 4th in the State Championship. All of these girls deserve a huge congratulations!

Golf Team Achieves Best Ever Finish

In addition to capturing their third straight Division I Section title, the St. Francis Golf Team won it's ninth NorCal Championship in the 11 years the girls' tournament has been held. The team went on to place 3rd in the State Championships... the best finish ever for the St. Francis team!
State Championships were held at Red Hills Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, on November 18, 2008. Tiffany Dong '09 led with a score of 5-over 79, Nichole Cruz '12 followed with an 83, Jenn Moore '09 and Briana Mao '11 each scored 84, Daniela Okino '10 shot an 85. The team's total score of 415 made them the lowest scoring team from Northern California, and just behind Torrance (392) and Los Altos (403).

Troubie Golfer Named Athlete of Week

On November 8, 2008, SF golfer Briana Mao '11 was selected Front Page Sports "Athlete of the Week." In the Division I North Section playoffs, Briana shot a 3-under 69 at the very difficult Hiddenbrooke Golf Club in Vallejo. Her performance helped lead the St. Francis golf team to their third straight Division I Section title.
Congratulations to Briana and the entire SF Golf Team!
