As of May 4, 2009, the Varsity track team is in first place with a 4-0 league record. Cekarri Nixon has been placing first in the 100m, 200m, and 400m races in the last two league meets. One Team - One Goal - One Family
(Troubadour Tribune Feb-Mar 2009)
One Team - One Goal - One Family... this is the philosophy of the St. Francis High School Track & Field program.
The coaches are delighted that preliminary reports from their last preseason meeting showed that as many as 70 student-athletes might be coming out for Track & Field.
Last year, our 4x100 meter relay team qualified for the State Championships, and 3 of the 4 legs will be back this year: Mikaela Vaden, Cekarri Nixon, and Camille Cholger.
David Badovinac (throws coach), Tom Laythe (distance coach), and Steve May (one of our sprint, hurdle and jumps coaches) report that the athletes have been training very well during the preseason. The team will be strong this year and we invite all of the St. Francis community to come out and watch the competition.
