Many private colleges have additional funds available to help offset college costs. To distribute these funds fairly, these colleges rely on information from the FAFSA and may also ask that families complete the CSS Financial Aid PROFILE, the financial aid application service of the College Board.

Some colleges may also ask you to complete their own institutional aid form if you require need-based aid.
