St. Francis High School’s Christian Service Program has grown into a vibrant student-driven and student-led program. Within the department of Campus Ministry, the Service Coordinator guides student coordinators in planning, organizing and leading the student body in their service experience.
Throughout the over six decades of St. Francis High School's existence, volunteer service and dedication to works of social action have been a vital part of student life.

St. Francis Christmas Store (December 2010):
Keep your eyes open for bargains you can donate to our upcoming St. Francis Christmas Store. Again this Advent, the St. Francis High School community as well as the Alumnae Association will be adopting at least 35 families screened through Catholic Charities. The parents from our adopted families visit our store and select gifts for their families. Student and Alum volunteers assist with the shopping and gift wrapping, as well as child care and hospitality. |

Summer Toiletry Collection (continuous): Remember, if you are traveling this summer, and you stay in hotels, please collect all unused toiletry items. We have a continuous collection in the CLC (Campus Life Center) of unused travel size toiletries for Wellspring that we donate periodically. Wellspring Women's Center helps women and children in the Oak Park community, and with your support they can make even more of a difference!

Recap of 2008-09 School Wide Charity and Service
In 2008-09, the students at St. Francis High School truly made the school year theme of “Together for Each Other” a reality:
- We began the year with our Back to School Supply Drive for St. Patrick’s and St. Anne’s Elementary schools.
- During Ghana Solidarity Week, we wrote letters to our pen pals at our sister school in Ghana, we bought fair trade items, and we celebrated the common threads that we share with our Ghanaian sisters at St. Francis.
- The women and children at Wellspring Women’s Center were honored when we wore pink and donated a few dollars for our free dress fundraiser. Yes, even many men wore pink too!
- On St. Francis Day, we collected stuffed animals for Stanford Settlement and brightened the day of many children in the Sacramento area.
- St. Francis entered the Run to Feed the Hungry last Thanksgiving as Team Troubie and had the largest team in history for 2 years in a row!
- Thirty-five families were adopted this Christmas season with generous gifts from our students, staff, and SF alumnae. We carried out our 2nd annual Christmas Store where local Sacramento residents in need got to pick out their own gifts for their families, get them wrapped, while their children got their picture with Santa and made arts and crafts.
- We stood in solidarity with those around the world who have little or nothing to eat when at least 1/3 of our school community chose to fast on a bowl of rice for Friday lunches during Lent.
- $4,892.90 was collected for Operation Rice Bowl through Catholic Relief Services by our rice bowl sales, our collections from our take home rice bowls, and free dress fundraisers.
- We stood in solidarity with those struggling with the plight of homelessness by attending the Safe Ground Rally with Jesuit in April.
- We had a basic necessities supply drive for the homeless, and collected 4 vans full of supplies with the combined efforts from the students and staff at Loretto, Jesuit, and CB.
Without the many hands at St. Francis, none of this would have been possible.
Thank you!
