ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Senior Marlee Nicolos scored 17 points to lead three players in double figures in a 66-57 win over Reno Saturday to cap the three-day Roseville Elite Showcase. The Troubadours won two of three games on the weekend, defeating Inderkum 51-29 in the season opener and losing to Pleasant Valley 67-60 on Friday.

“It was a really good building weekend and starting point,” said Nicolos. “It is nice to be 2-1 heading into the Arizona Tournament. We have a lot of strong points as well things to work on. The coaches and girls are really excited.”

St. Francis took control of the game in the second quarter, scoring 24 points helped by two three-pointerss by Nika Bagaelos and third by Lauren Pank to build a 12-point lead.

“It was a lot of fun,” said Nicolos. “Logan (Kelly) at the high post knows how to run everything, she either can dish it or make the shot. She is amazing at it. And Nika can make threes all day long.”

Nicolos, who led the team in scoring in all three games, sealed the game in the fourth scoring nine of 17 points. Bagatelos scored eight second half points to finish with 16 and Kelly contributed 13 points. Pank added nine points.

St. Francis returns to action at the Nike Tournament in Phoenix on Dec. 19.
