RANCHO MURIETA, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse team had five players score two or more goals in a 20-4 victory over Rio Americano Tuesday night.

“We took what we needed to do and put it all together,” said Vielhauer. “In the beginning, we could not make it work but at the end we came together and figured it out.”

Sophomore Grace Barger led the team with five goals and nine draw controls, while junior Jade Borg tallied four scores to help in the winning effort.

“We worked together really well especially coming off spring break,” said senior Rachel Wick.

Wick, sophomore Nikki Morissette and freshman Sophia Gorona added two goals each.

“We had really good teamwork today,” said Gorona, who added four draw controls. “We were trying different schemes since we were up by a lot. WE all backed each other up which is how we succeeded.”

St. Francis takes on rival Christian Brothers on Thursday on the road. Varsity starts at 4:15 p.m. followed by the junior varsity at 5:45 p.m.

“It is going to be fun and we are going to do great,” said Vielhauer. “I can’t believe it is my last one. We are pumped.”

The Troubies travel to Bella Vista on April 17 before closing the regular season with games against St. Francis Mountain View for Senior Game on April 21 (11:00/12:30 p.m.) and Davis for the Booster Que (5:30/7:00 p.m.)

“Especially as a senior, it is really nice to have these last games on our field,” said Vielhauer.
