Jesuit Christmas Tree Lane

St. Francis Parent Teacher Guild partners with Jesuit High School’s Loyola Guild for their Annual Holiday Event and Fundraiser for Tuition Assistance, Christmas Tree Lane (CTL). St. Francis seniors are invited to participate. CTL will be held on Nov. 26 and 27, 2023.

Virtual Practice PSAT for Juniors
Saturday, September 9
All juniors will be required to take the PSAT at SFHS on Wednesday, October 11.
Illness on Campus
Since the start of school the past few weeks, we have had and will continue to have waves of illness; COVID, strep, flu etc. Please talk to your daughters about keeping herself and others safe. In short, keep up the practices that have helped keep our community as safe as possible over the past year:
Non-registered Service Animals at School
Due to health and safety concerns, and to avoid any disruption to school activities, all animals are prohibited from school property, school facilities, school transportation, and school functions except for registered service animals. The service animal must be a dog or, in limited specific circumstances, a miniature horse. No other species of animal will be permitted as a “service animal.”

Sacramento’s family of Catholic high schools is thrilled to be back welcoming our entire community for the Holy Court Volleyball games on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Francis Catholic High School. This annual event is a fine tradition of good-spirited rivalry and is a chance for us to showcase our athletic accomplishments and enormous school spirit and pride. Students who attended years of grammar school together have an opportunity to catch up and socialize, and this is an opportunity to promote Catholic education to the broader Sacramento community.
MySchoolBucks Login Update
Due to the adoption of the single sign-on feature in PowerSchool/Schoology, we’ve had to temporarily remove MySchoolBucks from PowerSchool until they can update their software to work with ours. Parents can still sign onto MySchoolBucks by going directly to their website or by downloading their mobile app which you will find on their homepage.
New PowerSchool/Schoology Single Sign-on
We have updated our PowerSchool and Schoology sites to use a single sign with your unique PowerSchool Portal credentials. This means that you can sign into PowerSchool Portal and Schoology using your email address and your existing PowerSchool Portal password.
Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures 2023-2024
Dear St. Francis Parents,
I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday and our Troubies are back on campus! We had a wonderful Back to School Rally this morning and the energy and enthusiasm of our students was palpable.
I’ve been out in the drop-off/pick-up area over the past few days, and see that some of you are making great efforts to get your daughters to school on time, as well as picking them up before 4:30pm. Thank you for making that a priority and ensuring their safety at all times.

Fall Sport Tryouts

These sports start their official tryouts on Monday, August 14. Please check emails via FinalForms from coaches for times and locations.
New SacRT RydeFreeRT Program Cards Now Available
SFHS is partnering with the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) to participate in the RydeFreeRT program that brings the entire SacRT transit network, including SacRT buses, light rail, and SmaRT Ride on-demand microtransit service to our students for free. New RydeFreeRT cards are available to all students in the front office and are valid through June 30, 2024.
Summer 2024 Trip to Italy
The Modern and Classical Languages Department is wrapping up their registration period for the 2024 Summer trip to Italy. This is a great opportunity to see the best of Italy from north to south. This trip is open to St. Francis students of all languages and all levels.

Important Information and Forms to Complete
The start of a new school year means a review of policies and procedures as well as the acknowledgment or completion of important forms. Please review the following from the Dean’s Office:
American River College PSCY 300 – Introduction to Psychology
We are happy to report that St. Francis Catholic High School has partnered with American River College for the 2023-2024 school year, and are excited to offer a college level course on our very own campus, starting August 2023. The course currently approved is PSYC 300-Introduction to Psychology. The course will be offered in-person and asynchronously, after-school (3:10 – 4:30pm), two days per week (Tuesday/Thursday), and will only be offered to junior/senior students. There is no additional tuition fee for this class, but course materials (i.e. textbooks, supplemental readers, print materials, etc.) may apply.
Final Forms Updates
Final Forms is the official online registration process for parents and students, used for back-to-school forms, including medical and emergency information, and forms that are required prior to participation in Athletics at St. Francis. Even if your family completed forms this summer for a Fall sport, there are additional forms that have been added and must be signed by both parents and students. All parents will need to complete their student’s registration information by August 10th. If you have any questions about logging into your account, please reach out to SFTech@stfrancishs.org.
Parents of student-athletes, particularly those competing in fall sports, should register their daughters on FinalForms as soon as possible. Tryouts and conditioning will begin as early as July 31, and all forms plus documentation of a physical need to be on file prior to any participation. Additionally, sports-specific details and information are sent through FinalForms.
Grades, Assignments and So Much More
We use two components of the PowerSchool system so you may track your daughter’s progress while she is at St. Francis – PowerSchool Student/Parent Portal and Schoology. They are two separate sites with two separate logins.
Robotics Team Takes First at World Championships in Colorado
The St. Francis Geneseas Robotics Team won first place at the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) World Championship held in Denver, Colorado earlier this month. Our girls outperformed high school groups from across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East to claim the top prize, breaking barriers for women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) along the way.
