2017 Lacrosse Highlights
St. Francis went 10-7 on the season under Head Coach Julia Southard, advancing to the North Coast Section playoffs. SF was defeated by 17-3 in the first round by California.
- The Troubadours lost to Oak Ridge in the semifinals of the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League playoffs after finishing in fourth in the league standings.
- St. Francis placed five players on the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference All-League team, including first-team selection Sarah Westover as selected by the league coaches.
- Sophomore Jade Borg and junior Maggie Pinkston were second-team selections, while Sarah Brust and Juliette Vielhauer were named to the honorable mention teams.
- Westover led the team in scoring with 50 goals and was named the team’s offensive most valuable player. She added 16 assists while recording 49.8 percent on her draw controls. Borg was second on the team with 47 goals with 15 assists.
- Pinkston was named the team’s defensive most valuable player with a team-best 104 saves and a 52 percent save percentage.
- The Troubies defeated Christian Brothers 19-3 in Holy Stix and posted wins over Saint Francis, Menlo-Atherton, Palo Alto and Bishop O’Dowd during the season.
- St. Francis had six seniors who were part of the program in 2017.
- Westover will play at USC, while Grace Passantino will play at Tennessee Wesleyan and Brust will suit up for Puget Sound.
