Overview

Spiritual Guidance

The Guidance Department recognizes, respects, and values each student as a unique individual. We support each student’s sense of dignity and self-worth by offering her guidance and reflection through the Christian faith. Students are also referred to the Chaplain, Campus Ministry, and Theology teachers for deeper discussions about their faith and decision making.

The Guidance Department at St. Francis High School relies heavily not only on the values of our Patron Saint St. Francis of Assisi, but also with Francis’ dear friend, St. Therese of Lisieux, for whom our Center is named. We try, in our daily lives, to be instruments of peace and live in brotherhood and sisterhood with one another, as well as living our lives in service for the sick and oppressed.

A favorite prayer of ours is the Prayer of St. Therese of Lisieux:

“May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. it is there for each and every one of us.”
