Cal Grant & Cal Grant Opt Out

News

The Cal Grant helps pay tuition and fees at California colleges and universities. Every high school in California is required to report Cal Grant grade point averages (unweighted grade point average taken from all classes in 10th and 11th grade except PE and Academic Teams) to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) for the purpose of determining whether a student is eligible for a Cal Grant for college. Go here for more information, including requirements for each type of Cal Grant.

Applying for a Cal Grant is automatic as long as a FAFSA is submitted by March 2, at least ONE California college or university is listed as a FAFSA recipient, and CSAC has received a Cal Grant grade point average.

If you would like to OPT OUT of having your daughter’s Cal Grant grade point average submitted to CSAC, please email our Registrar, Ms. Sarah Cornell by October 1, 2024.
