Jackson Sisters Advance in Section Brackets
Benush Loses in Second Round to No. 1 Seed Tan
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Kiya and Kyla Jackson advanced into the semifinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section doubles draw on Thursday. Play was postponed for Friday and rescheduled for Monday morning.
Sophomore Adithi Benush advanced to the second round of the singles draw before falling to top seed Jacquie Tan of Franklin 6-0, 6-0. She had advanced with a three-set win over Laura Wadsworth of Armijo 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in the opening round.
The Jackson sisters, seeded second overall after winning the Delta League title, opened with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Emma Canepa and Nikkie Barajas of Lodi in the first round. They defeated Georgia Anselmo and Arian Mestas of Armijo in the second 6-0, 6-1.
The Jackson sisters play No. 3 seed Lilly Wainwright and Clara Hill Gason of Oak Ridge at 10 a.m. on Monday.
