Volleyball Advances in Sections; Hosts Gregori at 5 p.m. on Thursday
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – The St. Francis volleyball team easily advanced with a 3-0 win over Kennedy in the opening round of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs.
“They were very, very focused tonight,” said Head Coach Alynn Wright. “I thought they served really well was good to see how scrappy defensively they played. They looked like they were having fun and they followed the game plan to a tee.”
St. Francis had big runs in each set aided by strong serving. The Troubadours tallied 16 aces on the night with only one error.
“We had a lot of big runs,” said Wright. “We were more in system than we were out of system.”
Sam Chavez (16) and Camille Enes (13) both scored double digit points on their serve.
Junior Kathryn Kramer had a team-best 14 kills and Mady Schildmeyer and Jesiree Moral each had double-digit assists.
St. Francis won 25-7, 25-9, 25-7.
St. Francis hosts Gregori at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Tickets are $7 and $5 and no school or season passes are allowed.
