Christian Service Requirement Update
Happy Summer Troubies!
Since there were several covid-related modifications over the past couple of school years, I am reaching out to make you aware of some changes to the Christian Service requirement. Please take time to carefully read this email so that you are aware of this year’s expectations.
First, we are reverting back to direct service, this means that students are in direct contact with the people or organization they are helping. Remote hours are no longer accepted. See Christian Service FAQs for information on service expectations.
The service period for this school year is June 1, 2022, to March 3, 2023. To remain in good standing and eligible for extracurricular activities, you are required to meet quarterly or semester benchmarks–mark those dates and minimums on your calendar.
Sophomore: 15 or more total hours at two or more non-profit organizations
- Friday, Oct. 7th: minimum of 5 hours
- Friday, Dec. 16th: at least 10 hours
- Friday, Mar. 3rd: at least 15 total hours
Junior: 20 or more total hours at no more than two non-profit organizations
- Friday, Oct. 7th: minimum of 7 hours
- Friday, Dec. 16th: at least 14 hours
- Friday, Mar. 3rd: at least 20 total hours
Senior: 30 or more total hours at no more than two non-profit organizations
- Friday, Oct. 7th: minimum of 10 hours
- Friday, Dec. 16th: at least 20 hours
- Friday, Mar. 3rd: at least 30 total hours
Verification of service hours policies remain the same as in previous years. Students who complete 100 or more hours by the end of Quarter 3 will receive a Christian Service Award. Extra hours do not carry forward.
