Athletics Updates
Fall Sports Start Date, Tryouts, Sports Physicals

Fall Sports Start Date: Fall Sports can officially start on Monday August 5th. Each sport has their own process for tryouts and roster formation. Please make sure you are registered for your fall sport on FinalForms so you are getting the most up to date tryout information.

Important Information and Forms to Complete

The start of a new school year means a review of policies and procedures as well as the acknowledgment or completion of important forms. Please review the following from the Dean’s Office:

Emergency Information: All students must have emergency information on file before the first day of classes. This is done through Final Forms.
Parent-Student Handbook 2024-25: All parents need to review and acknowledge the Parent & Student Handbook. During its review, please pay particular attention to the uniform/dress code.
Medication: If your student requires medication that she’s not allowed to carry with her, please fill out the medication/medical release form and return it to the front office.
- Students may carry one dose (up to 4 pills) of aspirin, tylenol, and midol type products. All other medication (except EPI pens, inhalers, or diabetic meds) should be stored in the main office and a medication/medical form signed by parents turned into the front office.

Early Dismissal Pass Request: St. Francis is a closed campus during the school day. Only students with an early dismissal pass (or a phone call by a guardian to the attendance line) will be allowed to leave prior to the end of the school day.

American River College SOC 300 – Introduction to Sociology

We are happy to report that St. Francis Catholic High School has partnered with American River College for the 2024-2025 school year, and are excited to offer a college level course on our very own campus, starting Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The course offered will be SOC 300-Introduction to Sociology. The course will be offered in-person and asynchronously, after-school (3:10-4:30pm), two days per week (Tuesday/Thursday), and will only be offered to sophomore/junior/senior students. There is no additional tuition fee for this class, but course materials (i.e. textbooks, supplemental readers, print materials, etc.) may apply.

The Serra Court Café is cashless and uses MySchoolBucks for all student meal accounts. If you are new to the school, you can set up a free MySchoolBucks account by following the instructions on our website. Parents/students can also drop a check off in the front office payable to St.

Supplemental Chromebook Insurance
Don't Wait! Be sure to purchase supplemental Chromebook insurance today!

This month, the Technology Department has seen several student Chromebooks with battery failures. For students without supplemental insurance, Chromebook batteries are only covered under warranty for the first 12 months. Unfortunately, the cost to replace a battery can run over $100. For $34.95 a year, Securranty’s supplemental insurance will provide coverage for batteries, chargers, device malfunction, accidental damage, loss, theft, and standard perils. Get started on your Family Service Hours for the 2024-25 Year!

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to inform you of a few changes to our Family Service Hour Program. Please see below for more details and reminders of elements that will remain the same.

Going into the 2024-25 school year, all families will be required to complete 25 hours for the school year. 10 of those hours must be completed in active service on campus. 15 of the hours can be made through specific donations indicated on our MVP website; every $30 spent will equate to 1 hour of service.

Beginning July 23, 2024, multiple parent volunteer opportunities for Campus Ministry projects will be listed in MVP. General projects include cleaning and organization, craft project preparation, and sewing. Please log in to MVP or contact svillanueva@stfrancishs.org for more information.

Spanish Immersion Trip to Costa Rica in February 2025

The Modern & Classical Languages Department is hosting a Spanish immersion trip to Costa Rica in February 2025! Registration is now open and the early bird rate of $4,033 will not last! The 8-day itinerary includes a visit to a sustainable organic farm, a boat trip to observe wildlife on the Río Frío, and three days on the beautiful coast of Guanacaste.
