At the end of this week, the Class of 2025 will receive an email that includes their College Planning and Letter of Rec Packet as well as a Parent Brag Sheet. Vanellopes should work on the packet over the summer and turn it in to the Counseling & College Center by Friday, August 16th.
Want a head start on the college process? The SFHS College Advisors, Ms. Austin and Ms. Lee, are offering two different week-long summer courses. College Roadmap for the McQueens is for rising sophomores and the College Application Workshop is for rising seniors. Additionally, SFHS is offering a College Essay Writing Workshop for rising seniors, which will be taught by Mrs. Ferrara, an English teacher at SFHS. Students can sign up for these courses here.
Working directly with the SFHS College Advisors, rising seniors will gain an understanding of the functionality of the Common Application, the UC application, and the CSU application. Specifically, students will complete all common components of the Common Application except for the essay and colleges’ supplemental questions. Students will work on the Activities and Honors section of the UC application as well as brainstorm ideas and develop drafts of the UC Personal Insight Questions.
