2014 Cross Country
News
- St. Francis finished third at the CIF State Championships,
recording a Top-10 finish for the fourth consecutive season and
third top-five placing in the last four years.
- State Meet Team Results: 1. Great Oak 45; 2. Bella Vista 141; 3. St. Francis 186; 4. Clovis North 198; 5. Trabuco Hills 203. State Meet Individual Results: 26. Miranda Myers, 18:43; 30. Peyton Bilo, 18:53; 38. Ariane Arndt, 18:55; 60. Ava Nkadi, 19:12; 93. Sydney Vandegrift, 19:36; 127. Chase Worthen, 20:15; 154. Gabrielle Dyer, 20:41.
- St. Francis became the third Nor Cal team to earn a podium finish at the Division I state meet (St. Francis, 2012; Davis, 2013) and second in school history.
- St. Francis was third overall at the Sac-Joaquin Section, while sweeping the Junior Varsity and Frosh/Soph races. The St. Francis Frosh/Soph team was first behind the 2-3 finish by freshmen Savanna McGrew and Ashley Reid to edge Armijo 47-67. The JV squad was led by junior Gabrielle Dyer (third, 20:35) and senior Amanda Larivee (fourth, 21:18) to defeat Woodcreek 39-42.
- St. Francis was second overall at the Delta League Championships with three student-athletes earning All-League honors with their top-10 finishes.
- Senior Miranda Myers finished 17th overall in a field of 143 at the Footlocker Cross Country West Regional Championships with a time of 19:05. Teammate Peyton Bilo was 73rd overall (20:16), while junior Chase Worthen was 121st. (21:11).
- Junior Chase Worthen earned All-America honors at the USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country National Championships held in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Worthen placed 21st with a time of 18:49 over the 5K course. The top 25 racers in each division and top three team earned the title of All-American.
- Myers signed to run at Northern Arizona, while Bilo will compete at Cal Poly.
