2014 Volleyball Highlights
News
- St. Francis advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals before losing to eventual state runner-up Pitman. They were the No. 4 seed overall entering the tournament.
- The Troubadours posted a 30-12 overall record under Head Coach Alynn Wright, who coached her 26th season at St. Francis. St. Francis finished fourth in the Sacramento Bee Volleyball rankings.
- The Troubadours finished second in the Delta League with a 12-2 overall record.
- Kylie Green was the selected to the Sacramento Bee All-Metro team leading three Troubadours on the team including Anna Donald (second team) and Marissa Gollnick (honorable mention).
- Four players were selected to the Delta League first-team and Head Coach Alynn Wright was named the Coach of the Year.
- Mary-Kate Schildmeyer was the recipient of the Delta League Sportsmanship Award.
- St. Francis won the annual Holy Court matchup with Christian Brothers with a 3-1 victory, winning the match for the sixth straight season, in front of a sold out crowd at home. The Troubadours swept all three matches over the Falcons.
- The Troubadours reached the semifinals of the High Sierra Invitational and their own Super 8 tournament and won the consolation bracket of the Stockton Invitational. Marissa Gollnick was named to the all-tournament team at the Stockton Invitational.
- Three seniors from the 2014 team signed or committed to play volleyball in college including Anna Donald (UC Davis), Kylie Green (UC Irvine) and Marissa Gollnick (Rose-Human).
