2015 Basketball Highlights

St. Francis advanced to the quarterfinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, losing to eventual state champion St. Mary’s. The Troubadours defeated Bella Vista in the opening round and posted 20 wins on the season, the most for the program since the 2011 season.

Overall, the team went 9-5 in Delta League action, finishing third overall in the standings.

Senior Susie Rogers, who was the named the team’s the outstanding defensive player, averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists, tying for the league-lead. She also ranked third in the Delta League with 3.0 steals per game.

Junior Lauren Craig, who was also an All-Metro honorable mention selection, grabbed a league-best 12.3 rebounds per game, the eighth-best total in the section and 13th-best overall in Division I in the state. She also scored 12.7 points per game with a league-best 2.7 blocks per contest. She recorded 18 double-doubles during the season. She scored a season-high 20 points against Huntington Beach and recorded a season-high 20 boards versus Grant. She was the team’s outstanding offensive player.

Junior Angie Ortiz scored 6.1 points and grabbed 4.7 rebounds per game in 2014-15.  She scored in double figures seven times during the season. She was named the team’s most improved player at the banquet.

Junior Kyra Huffman was the second-leading scorer and rebounder on the team, averaging 10.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She had four double-doubles during the season. She had a season-high 22 points in a win over Capital Christian. She received the Coaches Award,

The Troubadours played in the Nike Tournament of Champions for the ninth time in school history, posting a 2-2 overall record.
