In early September, about 16,000 students in the United States, or approximately one-third of the 50,000 high school students, are notified that they have qualified as Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

We are proud to announce that St. Francis senior, Catherine Sutarjo, received a National Merit Semi-Finalist award for her outstanding academic performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. Approximately 15,000 finalists for the Merit Scholarship Program will be announced in February. If she advances to a Finalist standing, she will be considered for a National Merit Scholarship.
