Big Weekend at Arcadia Invitational
ARCADIA, Calif. – Led by a school record in the 4×1600-meter relay on Friday night, the St. Francis track and field team was well represented at the Arcadia Invitational.
The 4×1600-meter relay reset the record set last season of 22:28.11 by Sophie DeBenedetti, Alana Reyna, Gabrielle Dyer and Chase Worthen. DeBenedetti paired with Kathryn Kramer, Noelle Lynch and Sydney Vandegrift to win the race in 21:11.79.
The 4×800-meter relay comprised of DeBenedetti, Kramer, Lynch and freshman Haley Silva clocked a 9:30.92, the second-best time to a group from 2003 (Alexander, Hartman, Krtil and Kantola, 9:28.66).
Meghan Rogers was 21st in the long jump with a best leap of 15-5.75. She paired with Elizabeth Hennessy, Isabelle Grassel and Alyssa Shebert to finish 10th in the 4×100-meter relay in 49.07. Hennessy was 39th overall in the 300m hurdles in 48.92.
The distance medley relay was 23rd in the 12:49.05 with a lineup that included DeBenedetti, Kramer, Lynch and Vandegrift. The group set the school record last week at the Stanford Invitational.
