Class of 2023 Leadership Positions
On Friday, March 25th, the Class of 2023 was invited to apply for one of the Campus Ministry Leadership positions for their senior year. The application requires the submission of a Google Form and a video responding to a prompt associated with the position(s) they are seeking. Students can apply for multiple positions, but will not be offered more than one.
The three leadership opportunities are available: Big Sister, Retreat Team, and Christian Service Leader (CSL).
Big Sisters – Mentor freshmen as they transition into SFHS. They are required to attend the Freshmen orientation and overnight retreat events. In addition, they are to attend two meetings a month on “Late Start” days — a prep meeting and a Big Sister & Little Sister event. This role requires both structured and informal engagement with their Little Sisters. There are Big Sister training days required that occur before the official start of school (August 8 & 9), please let your daughter know if these conflict with your family travel plans.
Retreat Team – Students act as small group leaders and help facilitate various parts of the freshmen, sophomore, and junior retreats. Multiple school-excused absences are required to take on this leadership role. The Campus Minister for Retreats will work with student schedules to minimize impact.
CSL – Enrolled in a year-long course, these students are tasked with helping promote service, charity, and Catholic Social Teaching to the greater St. Francis High School Community. These leaders are also leaders for our Catholic Relief Services chapter.
*Juniors recently elected as SBOs are ineligible to apply for any position, and students selected as senior officers are ineligible to be CSL.
At the March 22nd information meeting, we explained to attendees that we may not be able to accommodate everyone who applies. Juniors attending Kairos 87 are encouraged to submit their application prior to departure. Applications are by 3:00 p.m. on April 8, 2021.
