Diver Molly Wilson Earns All-America Honor
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis rising senior Molly Wilson has been named to the 2016-17 NISCA/Speedo Girls 1-Meter All-America Diving team, joining a select group including just 10 girls from the state of California. Wilson was also among 27 juniors on the team that recognized 100 girls overall.
Wilson was 10th at the CIF State Diving Championships at the Clovis Olympic Complex with a personal-0best 464.75. She is the highest finisher at the state meet in school history in the sport and made her second consecutive appearance at the state meet (2016, 16th).
Wilson also won the Sac-Joaquin Section Diving Championship for the second consecutive season. She is the fourth student-athlete in school history to win the section diving title, joining Reagan Reber (2001-03), Ashley Haney (2004) and Amy Crayne (2010, 2012). She is the second diver to win back-to-back titles and third to win two or more individual crowns. She also captured the Delta League title.
The National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) is a professional organization that supports High School coaches of all aquatic sports. They are dedicated to coaches’ education and athlete recognition through the All-America programs. NISCA allows opportunities for coaches to network and exchange knowledge and experience.
