Dear Families:

Sacramento’s family of Catholic high schools is thrilled to be back welcoming our entire community for the Holy Court Volleyball games on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at St. Francis Catholic High School. This annual event is a fine tradition of good-spirited rivalry and is a chance for us to showcase our athletic accomplishments and enormous school spirit and pride. Students who attended years of grammar school together have an opportunity to catch up and socialize, and this is an opportunity to promote Catholic education to the broader Sacramento community.

The game provides a learning opportunity for our students regarding appropriate dress and behavior. We have high expectations that students will show school pride in their actions and in what they wear. We stress, at all institutions, that as students, these young men and women represent the mission and core values of each of our schools and that they model in a very real and public way what it means to be a student in a Catholic high school.

We encourage parents, guardians, and primary educators to discuss appropriate dress and behavior with their students prior to Holy Court. Our schools subscribe to the CIF principles outlined in “Pursuing Victory with Honor.” We ask students to show pride with dignity, taste, and positive cheers.  We encourage all fans to cheer loud, proud but most importantly positively.  All students must have their school identification cards with them at the game.

We are blessed to be able to gather and hold this event at full capacity with all of its rich traditions. Please note the following important details for this event:

  • There will be no in-and-out privileges throughout the entirety of the event.
  • Everyone should park in the student parking lot and enter that parking lot from Elvas Avenue and then make an immediate right to enter the lot.
  • The only entrance to the game will be at the Gym Foyer entrance on Elvas Ave.  If you try to enter through any other door you will be sent all the way around the school to the correct entrance.
  • For the health and safety of all student-athletes, coaches, and attendees, if you are experiencing symptoms of infectious illness, such as influenza (flu) or COVID-19, or have a member of your household with COVID-19 or awaiting test results, stay home and do not attend the game. Staying home when sick is essential to keep COVID-19 and other infections out and prevent its spread to others.

Thank you for your support of this great tradition and we look forward to a fun and exciting day of volleyball.

Sincerely,

David Perry, Ed.D., Principal, Christian Brothers High School
