Johnson Breaks Freshman 100m Hurdle Mark at Stanford

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Freshman Reyna Johnson clocked a time of 15.08 in the preliminaries of the 100m hurdles Saturday afternoon at the Stanford Invitational, breaking the school’s freshman school record in the event and became the fourth-best performer in the event in school history.

Johnson went on to finish eighth in the final later in the day, posting a time of 15.12. She broke Serena Shimada’s freshman mark set in 2016.
In other action Saturday, the 4×100-meter relay team clocked a 50.32 in the prelims Saturday morning. The distance medley team (Vandegrift, Cradeur, Silva, Hekkanen) placed sixth in events on Friday, combining for a time of 12:45.82. Junior Isabell Grassel placed 13th in the long jump with a best mark of 15-10.50.

The meet also featured several Troubie alumnae. Northern Arizona’s Miranda Myers ’15 ran a personal-best in the 5000m with a time of 16:29.47 and former teammate Lauren LaRocco ’14 was fifth in her heat with a time of 16:18.04.

St. Francis also at pole vaulters competing at Delta College. Molly Chambers was first with a clearance at 8-0, while teammate Bryn Polly was second at 7-6.

The Troubadours will be in action again on Wednesday against Sheldon and Davis in a key Delta League meet before sending representatives to the Arcadia Invitational next weekend.
