SFHS is delighted to share our very own Julia Kamilos has been accepted to Texas Christian University, School of Classical and Contemporary Dance (SCCD)! TCU’s Ballet program is one of the top five ballet schools in the Country, and is one of the first universities in the United States to offer a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ballet (TCU has issued such degrees since 1949).

By design, only about 60 students are in TCU’s SCCD with over 11 highly regarded faculty. The process to seat the freshman class starts with a review of applications including an audition video then an in-person audition on the TCU campus. Typically TCU’s SCCD sees about 400 applications a year. Just 20 students are selected to seat the freshman class and Julia was offered a spot in the freshman class with eligibility for a merit scholarship.
Major Kudos to Julia for sticking with her goals and dreams and to the SFHS Arts Dept for fostering a creative environment where students can excel and develop their passions.
