SF Shines at Lenaea Festival
Earning Top Honors and Recognition
Students from SFHS showcased extraordinary talent and professionalism at this year’s Lenaea Festival, earning recognition and accolades across multiple categories. The festival, known for its high level of competition, saw hundreds of submissions, with only a select few earning coveted spots in the prestigious “command performances.” Among the standout students were Faith Oliver and Isabelle Johnson, both of whom were chosen for this elite showcase.
The event also featured an impressive awards haul, with SFHS students walking away with nine awards. Notable winners included Sophie Ericson, who earned a silver in costume design, and Evealina Carrasco, who took home a bronze in set design. Faith Oliver’s performances were particularly outstanding, securing both a silver in monologue and a bronze in original script, in addition to a silver in duo scene with Isabelle Johnson. Other awardees included Rey Becerril, who earned a silver and Respondent’s Choice for her monologue, and Ella D’Incecco, who was awarded silver for her musical theatre solo.
The accomplishments were especially impressive given that several of the awardees were new to their categories this year. Rey, Sophie, and Evealina were all relatively new to acting, while Faith had never before written a play. This year’s impressive performance also puts SFHS among an elite group of schools recognized for their talent and professionalism, with only two other Bay Area art schools earning similar recognition.
The level of dedication, work ethic, and talent demonstrated by these students has left their instructors and peers in awe. Laura Millar, Director of the Arts, noted, “I could not be more proud of them,” and urged others to celebrate their hard work and achievements.
