SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis volleyball team advanced to the next round of NorCals with a 25-20, 25-12, 25-22 win over Windsor in the CIF NorCal Regional Championships on Wednesday.

“It was really satisfying,” said Edwards. “It was a good momentum change. Our cover was really good and our blocking helped us against #16 and shut her down. It helped our defense adjust.”

Edwards led the attack with a game-high 16 kills with seven digs.

“We played well enough to win,” said Head Coach Alynn Wright. “We had too many service errors but I was excited with some of the defense we played. There were numerous diving, one-armed saves.”

St. Francis will take on No. 3 seed Whitney on Saturday. The Troubies lost 3-1 in the Section playoffs to Whitney.

Join the Zoo for a Pre-Game Tailgate at Whitney in Rocklin on Saturday night to cheer on the Volleyball team in the CIF State Championships. Free Pizza and drinks to the first 80 students will be provided. Meet at the St. Francis tent outside the gym starting at 6:30 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. match.  Tickets are $5 for students.
