DAVIS, Calif. – Brynne Burrows scored a career-high 16 points to lead the St. Francis freshmen to the 41-25 win over Davis Thursday night.
“I was really nervous before the game,” said Burrows. “After the first quarter, I think I loosened up and got comfortable. We started attacking the basket and playing really good defense all together which helped.”

Davis was held to five points in the second quarter as SF built its lead to 19-12 at the break.
Sydney Galvan chipped in eight points and Gabi Lopez added nine points, including seven in the second half as St. Francis improved to 10-4.
“It felt really good,” said Galvan. “It was great to see everyone come together. We have worked really hard in practice and it was good to it pay off.”
Galvan added two baskets in the second half and finished with a team-best 10 rebounds.
“It felt awesome to contribute,” said Galvan. “Even if I didn’t score, the rebounds and everyone getting boards and finding passes show you are putting in work.”

“It made us more intense going to another school and knowing they are looking to play us made us more excited,” said Galvan.

“It feels really good,” said Burrows. “We have already tied (for first) in league and we are not losing league. Coach said she would buy us all sweatshirts if we win.”

“It is a good beginning to where we are going as a freshmen team,” said Burrows.
