SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Reina Deol scored a game-high 15 points to help the St. Francis freshmen team post a 25-23 victory over Del Oro to avenge their only loss of the season and improve to 12-1. The Troubadours advanced to the finals of the Del Campo Freshman Showcase looking for their fourth tournament title of the season.

Deol hit five three-pointers on the night. She scored the team’s only points in the first quarter and six of the first seven points as the team trailed 10-7 at the break. In the second half, she connected twice in the third as the team took a 20-17 lead and made one in the fourth as the Troubies held on to a 25-23 victory.

Skyler Maccoun and Ally Jeffers added three points in the win, while Savannah Tijerino-Santos and Clare Brennan each had a single basket.

The team plays in the championship at 5:35 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
