Former Troubadour Water Polo Player Kolokotronis Earns Honor
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Brown women’s water polo freshman Marisa Kolokotronis (Sacramento, Calif.) received Rookie of the Week honors, it was announced by the Collegiate Water Polo Association league office on Tuesday.
Kolokotronis teamed with senior Kate Woods to power a dramatic 15-14 double overtime victory at George Washington on March 1. Kolokotronis tied her career high with three goals and grabbed two steals to help Brown improve to 4-4 on the season.
She has eight goals, seven assists and 11 steals on the season.
The Bears return to action this weekend at the Harvard Invitational. Brown kicks off the two-day, four-game tournament against Iona on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. The event is available via the Ivy Digital Network.
Kolokotronis graduated from St. Francis in 2013. She was a two-time All-American and earned Named Academic All-American honors. She was a four-year letter winner at St. Francis and team co-captain and was voted St. Francis’ Offensive Player of the Year in 2012.
