Four Golfers Earn All-Delta League Distinction

News

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Four St. Francis golfers were named to the All-Delta League for their overall performance in league dual and center matches over the course of the season. Players accrue points based on their individual finishes in each event with a Most Valuable Player and top 10 players honored.

The Troubadours named to the team included junior Patricia Sweeney, who was the second-ranked player in the league only to MVP Marie Dean of Davis, senior Chase Saca (No. 6), junior Olivia Alcoran (No. 7) and senior Lauren Allen (No. 10). Sophomore Nashla Aguero was 12th overall in the standings.

It was the third Delta League honor for Sweeney and Alcoran, second for Allen and first for Saca.

Sweeney has led the team with scoring averages of 73.0 for 18 holes and 37.7 per nine holes. She finished tied for second place last week at the SJS Division I North tournament. She won or tied for medalist honors five times, finished no lower than second in any of the three Center matches and was low scorer for the team in eight matches.

The Troubies, who won the Delta League title by going undefeated in dual and center matches, advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters by virtue of their fourth-place finish at the Section Division I North Tournament last week.

Players will go off with a shot gun start at approx. 9 a.m.
