Freshmen Basketball Wins Holiday Classic

STOCKTON, Calif. – Nicole Frank was named the Cesar Chavez Holiday Classic Most Valuable Player, leading the St. Francis freshmen team to a 55-22 victory over St. Mary’s Monday afternoon. Morgan Kaeser was also an All-Tournament selection.

Frank scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Troubadours on Monday to record her second 20-point game of the tournament. In three games, she scored 56 points and averaged 18.6 points per game.

Adrienne Graybill added 10 points as the second player in double figures. Kelly Kraeger scored seven points, while Isabella Quiniola and Seleena Ordanica each contributed six points.

St. Francis scored 16 points in each of the first two quarters while holding St. Mary’s to just 12 points. The Troubies added to the lead in the second half, cruising to their second tournament title of the season. They also won the Cosumnes Oaks Winter Shootout. They are 8-2 overall entering league play next week.

The Troubadours reached the championship with wins over Chavez (56-36) and Buhach County (59-14)
