Lacrosse Coach Wilson to Leave Program
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis lacrosse head coach Kristy Wilson will not return for the 2015 season in order pursue personal opportunities out of state.
“We thank Kristy for all her hard work and dedication to the St. Francis lacrosse program as she takes on a new chapter in her life,” said Athletic Director Mark McGreevy. “She has been a great leader and role model for our young ladies in the program and played a significant role in the development of the St. Francis program.”
Wilson first coached the Troubadours in 2008 and 2009. She led the team to a perfect 16-0 record in 2008 and the SVLC Championship in 2009. She was named the 2009 Coach of the Year. She returned to the head coach position in 2013, coaching the team to an 11-7 record and the SVLC Championship. The Troubadours earned a berth in the North Coast Section playoffs in their first season of eligibility, tying for ninth overall.
St. Francis advanced to the North Coast playoffs again in 2014, finishing with a 9-10 overall mark.
McGreevy will begin a search for her replacement over the summer.
