Lacrosse Falls to Amador Valley 14-8

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse team lost a 14-8 game to Amador Valley Saturday at the Mather Sports Complex.

Senior Hayley Kusserow scored three times for the Troubadours but had a hard time containing senior Jackie Gilbert, a USC commit, who scored nine goals in the game.

Amador Valley, ranked as the No. 5 team in Division I in California by LaxPower and one of the Best of the West by US Lacrosse, also got two goals by Sadie Grozier.

Kusserow was one of six St. Francis players to score in the game, including Colleen McClain, Erika Palmer, Maggie Anderson, Ryleigh Bone and Sarah Westover.

St. Francis (3-4) is in the middle of three-game homestand this week. The Troubadours host Bella Vista on Tuesday and Oak Ridge on Thursday. Both games are at 7:30 p.m.
