Lacrosse Falls to Davis in League Game
MATHER, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse team fell behind early but rallied to play a solid second half in a 16-5 loss to Davis Friday night.
“We have been practicing a lot about being positive all the time,” said Co-Head Coach Spenser Rubalcaba. “We have working through adversity. They were able to come back at the end of this game and bring up their energy. They really brought that to the second half and we need to play like that all the time. They are capable of it. They just need to execute it.”
St. Francis (5-6) fell behind 10-0 but rebounded to score five goals in the second half and play even with the Blue Devils over the final 25 minutes.
Jade Borg scored two times and Maggie Anderson, Meg Anderson and Sarah Westover each added goals for the Troubadours. Mia Bonini led the team with three ground balls and Kelly Chavez, Borg and Meg Anderson each recorded two in the game.
“We have to bring it to both our games next week,” said Ruvalcaba.
St. Francis hosts Granite Bay in a non-league contest on Tuesday and Oak Ridge in a league game on Friday. Both games are at Mather Sports Complex.
