Lacrosse Falls to Granite Bay

MATHER, Calif. – St. Francis fell to Granite Bay on Tuesday 20-8 at Mather Sports Complex. Junior Sarah Westover scored three times for the Troubadours and Grace Passantino and Meg Anderson added two goals each in the loss.

“I think we worked really hard,” said Meg Anderson. “But we still need to practice harder and push each other so we can improve on both ends offensively and defensively so can come out stronger next time.”

Both teams exchanged goal s early in the contest before the Grizzlies strung together a few goals to lead 13-6 at the break. Granite Bay extended the team in the second half to pull out the victory.

Maggie Anderson, who will play at Walsh University next season, and Meg Anderson each had four draw controls. Meg Anderson led the team with four ground balls and Kelly Chavez added three.

“Tonight on offense we were working really well and we were moving the ball better than we normally do,” said Meg Anderson. “We have improved a lot on offense and we can keep improving.”

St. Francis hosts Oak Ridge on Friday night in a Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League matchup.
