Lacrosse Posts Big Win over Bella Vista
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Six players had two or more goals and eight players scored overall in a 19-2 victory over Bella Vista Tuesday night at Mather Sports Complex.
Junior Sarah Westover scored a team-high five goals and recorded two assists and had 10 draw controls. Senior Meg Anderson scored three times and won 3-of-4 draw controls and recorded a team-best five ground balls. Freshman Jade Borg also had three goals in the win.
St. Francis jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first half and shut out Bella Vista in second while adding seven more goals. Sophomore Maggie Pinkston only allowed two goals and made two saves for the Troubadours.
Sophomore Juliette Vielhauer, senior Erika Palmer and junior Grace Passantino each scored twice in the contest. Seniors Mia Bonini and Megan Hoffeditz added goals in the win. Emily Bush had a team-best three assists.
Seniors Kelly Chavez and Zoe Pearlman contributed to the defensive effort with multiple ground balls.
St. Francis improved to 3-5 on the season and 1-2 in league play. They host St. Francis of Mountain View on Friday night at Mather Sports Complex at 5:30 (JV) and 7:00 p.m. (Varsity).
