Lacrosse Wins Behind Kusserow’s Seven Goals

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Hayley Kusserow scored seven goals to lead St. Francis to a 15-7 victory over Redwood at Mather Sports Center Friday night.

The Troubadours won their second consecutive and improved to 5-5 on the season.

Kusserow powered a strong offensive attack that helped St. Francis hold a 9-7 lead at the half. The Troubadours posted a shutout in the second half, scoring six times. Junior goalie Maddie Merwin did not allow a goal in the second half and made 11 saves in the game overall.

Colleen McClain scored times on the night and five players recorded a single goal in the win. Jane Sadler, Ryleigh Bone, Mia Bonini, Maggie Anderson and Emily Bush added goals for the Troubadours.

St. Francis continues with its five-game homestand this week, hosting Granite Bay on Tuesday night with a JV contest at 5:30 p.m. and varsity match at 7:30 p.m.
