O’Mara Leads Softball to 9-0 Win over Folsom
FOLSOM, Calif. – Rhyann O’Mara went 5-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored to pace St. Francis to a 9-0 victory over Folsom Friday night in a game rescheduled after a rainout last Tuesday.
St. Francis record 16 hits with five players registering multi-hit games ad Emily Ainsley allowed just four hits over 6.2 innings out of the bullpen in relief of Meg Garren.
The Troubadours scored in the top of the first on a sacrifice fly by Alexis Viramontes, scoring O’Mara who had singled.
Ainsley, who went 2-for-4 in the game, doubled to lead off the second and scored on sacrifice fly by Akeylah Moses.
St. Francis broke it open in the third with three runs. O’Mara homered to start the inning and added runs on singles by Ainsley and Moses.
St. Francis (6-4) plays host to Christian Brothers Saturday at 3 p.m. as part of a three-game Albie Swingin Tournament.
