Jessica Kensky ‘99 and her husband Patrick Downes were among
those injured in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, Jessica is a
double amputee and her husband lost his left leg. Their life now
includes a black labrador service dog named Rescue. Jessica and
Patrick have authored a children’s book about an 11-year-old
girl named Jessica adjusting life with prostheses,
wheelchairs and crutches with her service dog by her side.
The book will be released on April 3, 2018 but can be pre-ordered
now online at Barnes and Noble. There will be a book signing
on Monday, April 23 at 6 PM - 8 PM at
the Barnes & Noble in Sacramento located at 1725 Arden Way,
