St. Francis Finishes Second in Delta League All-Sports Award

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis athletic department finished second overall in the Delta League Girls All-Sports Award standings recognizing the top girls and boys athletic programs.

The Troubadours won or shared two league titles during the 2014-15 inaugural season of the reformatted league Delta League that included Davis, Franklin, Elk Grove, Grant, Pleasant Grove, Monterey Trail and Pleasant Grove.

Davis was the overall winner with 69.5 points with St. Francis second overall with 58.5. Points were awarded based on the final placing in the league standings with nine points for first place, seven for second, etc. Schools count eight of the top 10 finishes, dropping their two lowest overall.

St. Francis won the swimming and diving title and was the co-champions in track and field with Davis. The Troubies recorded second-place finishes in cross country, golf, tennis, volleyball and water polo. Soccer, softball and basketball each placed third overall in the Delta. Lacrosse plays in the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League.
