Swimming Competes at Jesuit Invitational
CARMICHAEL, Calif. – Sophomore Tatum Roepke won two events among three top top-three finishes to highlight the opening meet for the St. Francis swim team Friday and Saturday at the Jesuit Invitational. Overall, the Troubadours posted 13 top-3 finishes.
St. Francis had four event winners. Roepke won the 500 freestyle in 5:33.65 and the 100 backstroke in 1:04.44, the only two event winner for the Troubadours. She also placed third in the 100 butterfly (1:06.34). Freshmen Annie Barrett took the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:54.45 and junior Emily Peters touched first in the 100 freestyle in 56.50.
Other top finishers for the Troubadours included senior Bella Smith placing second in the 500 freestyle in 26.08 and sophomore Taylor Koewler was second in the 100 fly (1:05.30). Sophomore Elizabeth Fugit was second to Roepke in the 500 free with a time of 5:41.98.
The Troubies also combined for several strong relay performances including the 200 IM relay (3rd, 1:59.22), JV 200 Free Relay (3rd, 1:52.70) and 200 Free Relay (3rd, 1:48.27).
St. Francis hosts their first dual meet of the season on Wednesday against Pleasant Grove.
