Track and Field Defeats Pleasant Grove
ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Madison Rawson won two events among 11 captured by St. Francis in posting a win over Pleasant Grove on Wednesday.
Rawson won the 1600 in a time of 5:34.85 as St. Francis claimed the top three spots in the race. Chase Worthen was second (5:35.03) and Ariel Medina was third (5:40.54). Rawson also crossed first in the 800m in 2:23.82 ahead of Miranda Myers (2:27.64) and Worthen (2:30.76).
Sophomore Ariane Arndt won the 200m and 400m. She posted a 59.81 in the 400m. The Troubadours also won the 300m Hurdles behind the effort of Elizabeth Hennessy (50.43).
St. Francis won three field events with Nicole Spring taking the Long Jump (16-4.5), Kaya O’Brine winning the discus (118-7) and Samantha Ruggles winning the shot put.
St. Francis will have a strong contingent competing at the Stanford Invitational this weekend. Friday’s events for the team include the 3,000m, 400m hurdles and distance medley relay.
