Varsity Lacrosse Postseason Honors Announced
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse team placed six players on the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference All-League team, including three first-team selections. Juniors Hayley Kusserow, Ryleigh Bone and Erika Palmer were all first-team selections as selected by the league coaches.
Kusserow, who hails from El Dorado Hills, led the team in scoring with 57 goals and was named the team’s Most Valuable Attacker. Bone, who is from Granite Bay, was selected the team’s Most Valuable Player after scoring 17 goals with six assists. She recently played for the Nor Cal team at the US Lacrosse National Tournament in Maryland.
Junior Erika Palmer of El Dorado Hills was the third first-team selection for the Troubadours, scoring 15 goals with seven assists on the season.
Senior and Davis resident Lyndsay Carpenter, who will play at Wheeling Jesuit next year, was a second-team choice and named the team’s Defensive Most Valuable Player.
Junior Colleen McClain, who is from El Dorado Hills, also was named to the second-team, while goalie Maddie Merwin, who is from Clarksburg, was an honorable mention selection. Merwin, who made 152 saves on the season, was chosen as the Most Improved and Most Inspirational.
