DAVIS, Calif. – Top seed and No. 1 ranked Granite Bay won the Sac-Joaquin Section title with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-11 win over No. 2 seed St. Francis. The Troubadours had won the last two section titles, including a win over Granite Bay last season.

The Troubadours (32-8) earned a berth in the CIF State Championships by reaching the section final. The bracket will be announced on Sunday and play begins on Tuesday,

The Grizzlies opened the first set with a 7-2 run before St. Francis rallied to tie the set at 8. Granite Bay then went on a 12-3 run and closed out the set 25-14. The second set was close to start and was tied at 9. But a 4-0 run gave the Grizzlies a lead they would hold onto, winning the set 25-20.
