Water Polo Competes at Saint Francis Autumn Invite
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – The St. Francis water polo team defeated Palo Alto High School and lost a tight 9-8 contest against Archbishop Mitty among four games in the Saint Francis Autumn Invitational over the weekend.
St. Francis opened against Las Lomas, dropping a 12-1 decision with Kayla Wehner recording her first career goal in the loss The Troubies rebounded in the afternoon with an 8-6 win over Palo Alto. Freshman Kendall Houck led the team with three goals and senior Sally Ferguson added two. Kobe Carpenter, Frances Barbour and Natalie Imboden added goals in the win.
SF lost 7-3 to Los Altos to open play on Saturday with goals by Houck, junior Malia Arnott and freshman Alyssa Jacobsen. In the finale Saturday afternoon, the Troubies fell to Archbishop Mitty 9-8. Carpenter led the scoring for St. Francis with three goals and freshman Caroline Wilkins scored twice.
St. Francis returns to the pool on Friday against McClatchy. The varsity enters the pool first at 3:30 p.m. followed by the JV at 4:45 p.m. The game times were adjusted to accommodate a Holy Bowl Pep Rally at Jesuit. The games will be broadcast on TroubieTV.
