Amaya is currently Assistant General Manager of the In-Shape Fitness club in Orangevale. She is also Head Coach of the St. Francis High School Junior Varsity swim team.
 
A 2017 graduate of St. Francis, Amaya earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Sports Studies, with a minor in Recreation Administration, at California State University-Sacramento.
 
Prior to her current position, she was Team Lead at In-Shape’s Carmichael club. And prior to that, she was Assistant Operations Manager at California Family Fitness’ Watt Avenue facility, and Assistant Program & Aquatics Manager at the Folsom facility.
 
She also worked for the Sacramento River Cats as an Account Executive in Inside Sales, and for the Northern California Swimstitute as a swim instructor and front desk manager. Additionally, she was a swim instructor at Rio Del Oro Sports Club.
 
In 2018, Amaya was named Assistant Varsity Swim Coach at St. Francis, and in 2023 was promoted to head coach of the JV team. Her 2023 JV team won the Sac-Joaquin Section high school championship.
 
Until sidelined by an injury, Amaya was herself a competitive swimmer with the Fulton-El Camino and Arden Hills teams.
 
She also has been an active community volunteer, working on various projects with the United Way, Loaves & Fishes, Salvation Army and Central California Hemophilia Foundation.
