In Shakespeare’s final tome, the one-time Duke of Milan is betrayed and banished, along with his daughter Miranda, to an island populated only by fairies and a wild mythical creature. Prospero plots his revenge by conjuring a powerful storm that drives his enemies to the island where he and Miranda cleverly trap the traitors to gain influence once again. Power, colonialism, and magic are on display in this fantastical Celtic interpretation featuring a female Prospero.
