Parent Newsletter: August 2, 2024
Dear St. Francis Families,
The start of any school year is an energetic and exciting time, but the 2024-25 school year holds even more anticipation and exhilaration as we begin celebrating 85 years as St. Francis Catholic High School. With our rich history and so much excitement for our future, we plan to spend all school year celebrating! For 85 years we have been an institution that helps young women realize their authentic selves, confidently pursue their passions, and learn to share their God-given gifts with the world.
The enthusiasm and boundless optimism for our future and your daughter’s future are beautifully embodied in our 2024-25 school year theme, Becoming Beacons of Hope. In the message Pope Francis shared at his last World Youth Day, he said:
“Hope is not naive optimism but a gift of grace amid the realities of life.”
Through Campus Ministry experiences like retreat or volunteer service, and even within the walls of the classroom, the formation of your daughter during her time at St. Francis supports her becoming a beacon of hope. Forming future-ready young women for lives of impact starts here – they are our hope.
Whether you are a returning school family, a parent in the Class of 2028, or a transfer family, we’re ready and excited to greet you and your daughters on the first day of school. If you are new to our community, brace yourself for the enthusiastic welcome your daughter will receive when she steps foot on to campus for the first day of school. I am hopeful that our shared work in the coming school year will be fruitful and fulfilling for all because it is done in partnership with all of you.
Hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:5)!
In the spirit of Pax et Bonum,
Fadia Desmond, Ph.D.
