SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis senior Olivia Alcoran will participate in the 2018 PURE Insurance Championship Impacting The First Tee tournament at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach from Sept. 25 – Sept. 30, 2018.

“I have been looking forward to this opportunity since I was little,” said Alcoran. “I’ve been to the tournament and to get to play in it will be pretty cool.”

Alcoran will be paired with a PGA TOUR Champion player for the event. The player assignments are announced at an event on Tuesday night. Alcoran will play practice rounds Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before the event starts on Friday. Golf Channel will providing daily coverage of the event.

“It will be cool to play Pebble Beach and a hard test,” said Alcoran.

Alcoran will play two rounds before Saturday’s cut that includes the low 23 pro/amateur teams and 10 amateur teams.

On behalf of The First Tee, PGA Tour Champions and PURE Insurance the participants were invited to participate in the 2018 PURE Insurance Championship Impacting The First Tee tournament. The selections were announced during the Morning Drive show on the Golf Channel on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Olivia was one of five participants selected from The First Tee of Greater Sacramento chapter.

One of the most unique events in golf, the tournament features 81 of the nation’s best juniors, ages 14-18, competing side-by-side with 81 Champions Tour members.
